Gary Greenberg is a scientist, and an artist to some extent. He uses his custom built microscope – capable of 300x magnification – to take mind-blowing pictures of various foods and drinks. They are quite beautiful, really. Science and art aren’t mutually exclusive after all.

Although these are nice images, know that this technique is not new. Scientists have been taking 3D images since the 90s using a series of images derived from different focal planes (called a Z-stack). It’s complicated but should you desire, here is more info on 3D microscopy.
